Hi, Im new to this and have a question......

Hi everyone im from south texas im trying to get a 2007 jeep srt8 with 65XXX plus miles, but the guy that has it for sale the key control doesnt lock or unluck the doors also the remote start doesnt work (he only has one key)... he said that it was working before but that suddenty it stop working... Also he metion that few weeks ago the key control was acting kind of weird that when he would unlock the doors the truck would turn on... Do u all think the remote control needs batteries or its something electrical or previous owner took the truck and reset the key some were else and mess it up (bypass key control settings).... I test drove the truck and works super good i really liked the truck but i just want some feed back from people that has experience this or your oppinion... I just dont wants to buy something that right away I have to be spending more money on getting things fix.

Don't waste your time. If things don't work on it, no use buying a jeep that doesn't work

Or get him to fix it, provide a second key, and THEN buy it. But don't buy as is. Right now, you might need two new keys, and that's close to $500 with programming.

Sounds like a bad key. It's a 5+ year old key.

Don't discount the entire truck for the keys. Call a dealership, get a replacement estimate, and take that cost off of the sale price.

for 65K miles... she might be a steal if you can get him to pay for the key replacement.

The other option, is get the dealer to take a look at it & diagnose the problem & give a repair estimate. If you really like this truck, while it's there, have them do a complete inspection of it & get their opinion. Might cost a bit of $ but could save you thousands later.
