Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

Hey, does any one know if the egr on the 09 heads is in the same spot as previous years? Wondering because I use to have an 05 hemi and i bought srt manifolds and notched out the hole for the egr but I just bought an 09 and would like to put the manfolds on the new jeep.

The Eagle heads got rid of the EGR so just run a new gasket so it matches the eagle port shape and you will be fine...

Ok that sounds good... so just the 09 gasket will work to block the hole I drilled out or should I weld some steal back in there?

chect it out there is a hole in the same spot as the older hemi's egr.... wonder what it's for? well the 09 gasket is almost a perfect match to the srt manifolds with the hole drilled out ... can't wait to put these on probably next month some time.

Re: Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

I have an 06 5.7 and am using the 09+ 5.7 manifold gaskets with d shaped ports for my srt8 manifolds. I purchased 06 gaskets also and layed them on each other and found that the egr hole was identical. I get an egr flow insufficient code fr time to time with my setup, but it is probably due to the fact I don't think I notched the srt8 manifolds deep enough, or when I did my head install I had a slight coolant leak into my combustion chamber before I retightened my head bolts... Coolant could have screwed with egr. She runs fine in closed loop, but when she is up to temp I'm having some idling issue and it has to be centered around the egr. Once I pass smog I may pull it off and get the block off kit.

Or try a new egr

Ya i had no idea that matched up, and i was going to run with the 05 to 08 gasket on my 05.
Does any one known what that egr hole is for on these 09 heads? Has anyone ever done this to an 09, 10?

I just blocked the EGR off because I ran an eagle intake manifold... Good Luck

Re: Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

Just finished doing the manifolds... what a job!!
So I had a huge issue, I snapped one of the header bolts in the head so I pulled the heads off to get the bolt out so since they were off I did a little port job on the exhaust. It's all back together and what a difference, now all I need is a custom tune. Oh and the egr hole goes no were. If I didn't all ready grind out the egr hole i would use the srt manifold gaskets.

Re: Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

With that amount of grinding for the EGR port when it was on your 05, was it enough to stop a low EGR flow code?

Re: Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

I didn't ever get around putting them on my 05... but i was kinda worried about that. Sorry can't really give you any info on it.

Re: Srt manifolds on an 09 hemi

I really don't have the time to take the manifold off... The easiest way is just pulling the head... So I just live with my low flow code... Didn't make a difference with he california emissions. I passed with flying colors. One day I will notch my manifold more and let you guys know.
