04 wrangler engine squeal

Just purchased 04 4.0 . It has an intermittant squeal in the front of the engine.
I have changed the belt and the tension pulley.still noisy.
It seems to happen when the engine is warm. And seems to go away when gas peddal is applied.Any suggestions ?

have you checked the tension since you put the belt on . they stretch a bit after running for a while ?

My 2004 Rubicon automatic made the same noise in 2007. On my 7 mile commute to work in the morning the squealing noise would start after the first mile when it warmed up. It was nearing autumn and the temperature outside was getting a little chilly in the morning. When I lifted off the gas pedal or sat at a stoplight it would squeal. Upon any acceleration the squeal would stop. After about 5 or 6 miles the squeal completely stopped (until I drove home). If I recall properly, the dealer said the water pump was the problem (I can't locate my records to be absolutely sure it was the water pump). It was replaced under my 3 year warranty and no more squeal. By the way, I still have this Rubi and its been a great vehicle. Good luck.

Bearings! If this is it ,I would highly recommend Flowcooler model 1750. you should see the temp idle at about 190 , oh and change the thermo stat to 190 degree

242 Jeep Wrangler hi flow water pump
