My WK2 just rolled over 20k miles...my thoughts

Thought I'd post my thoughts after 20k miles. For those that don't know, the WK2 is my first Chrysler product ever, and I come from a long background of owning Toyotas. I was interested to see how the Jeep would compare reliability wise.

Overall, I'm still very happy with the Jeep. We've had some little problems, the cruise control switch was replaced under warranty, and now the EVIC control needs to be replaced as well for the same reason. The button for the rear hatch is inoperable and needs to be replaced, hope to put it in the shop next week and deal with those things. Have a couple minor little rattles that are sort of annoying, but not so much so that I'd have the dealer tear the interior apart looking for them.

I was looking at it when the oil was being changed today, and I still gotta say its the best looking SUV on the road IMHO. Still get a LOT of compliments on it, which surprises me because they are everywhere now, and mine is such a low trim level. For instance, the guys at the oil change place were all looking at it and looking in the windows, etc. Nobody ever even gives the Lexus a second look.

Holding up very well from a look perspective too...interior materials aren't showing any serious wear, exterior still looks great (I keep my cars very clean). Its sits outside and theres no wear or discoloration to any of the black trim.

Fuel economy sucks pretty much LOL, we're averaging about 18 per the EVIC in what I would consider 65% highway, 35% city/suburbia. My wife drives it mainly and she's not real hard on the throttle.

Still very pleased...

Glad you are still pleased. Me too at 26,000 miles.

18mpg for a boat is not bad. I average that with bigger and heavier tires.

Nice review and glad you guys like it. Not bad for a first model year as well you have to take that into atleast some consideration. Fuel economy seems a little on the low side though. With over 50% highway i would have thought atleast 20mpg. I hand calculate my economy and get 19-20mpg with no highway at all and mines a heavier Overland. Mainly far suburban driving. Either way I guess atleast it isn't 12 or 13 lol. Chrysler made a good car there's no doubt about it.

I just got back from a 1,400 mile trip to the U.P. of Michigan. It was highway, country roads and some really slow forest logging roads. I averaged 21.4 mpg with my hemi. I'm ecstatic about the fuel economy.

If it makes you feel better I average around 12-14 mpg for my combined city driving. Usually around 16 mpg for highway. Rolling into 18k on my WK2 SRT8 and still enjoying the beast and been trouble free so far.

Yep, I'd have bought the diesel if they sold it here!

I just rolled 20k on my '11 overland as well and other than a couple minor things, it still feels like the day I picked it up. I just logged a 500 mile trip this past weekend and avg'd 25.7mpg (90% hwy). No regrets one bit.

I have a 2011 and just rolled 25000, no problems or even rattles what so ever. Getting 22 mpg in city driving with the v6
