3.5'' Dash Speakers

I currently have the Kicker KS350's in my dash, but was wondering if anyone has anything "better" perhaps? I know I could always go to the Boston upgrade speakers, but wanted to get something better I guess?

The kicker's sound good but one has already gone out (is crackling randomly) and have heard stories about others having them go out as well.

What other options do I have for the dash, that still sound good and don't break the bank. No amp on any door/dash speakers also..

I assume you want something that's going to drop right in (line up with the mounting holes)...?

Right..

Unless they make baffles pre-cut for a smaller size like 3''.. or? What were you thinking Mr. Audio!

ehhh, you know me, just pondering :D :p

I'd probably go with a JBL, Boston Acoutsic, or Polk 3.5"coaxial. There really aren't any fancy 3.5's out there.

So you wouldn't go with JL at all eh? I think I saw some polks somewhere.. hmm

No, they're pretty inefficient.

The Polks may not fit though... the tweeter sticks up fairly high.

I've always liked the smoothness of the Polk coaxial speakers.

The kicker ks350 shows Top-mount depth: 1-9/16"

The polks show
Top-mount Depth (Inches) 1 9/16
Bottom-mount Depth (Inches) 1 5/8

That gonna work?

I've never heard of bottom mount depth... would that be the measurement from the mounting flange to the top of the tweeter...?
