Warranty BS!!!

SO I havent posted on here in a long time but figured I would come on to vent and maybe warn.
So my t-case went on my 2011 Overland while towing home my yj from a weekend of fun. This is the second t-case to go on me along with 2 steering racks prior. So I GPS the nearest dealership and proceed there with some grinding going, as it was only about 15 km away (Manley Motors in Lindsay, ON). DOnt know wether I'm allowed to post the name or not.
Anyhow they say the usual that they will get it in and look at it. This happened on a Thurdsday. So I go rent a Uhaul so I can finish towing my yj home. I get a call from the service manager at Manleys the next day telling that he's going to have to open an investigation because the t-case and chain were badly broken...and that I should call Chrysler Canada to help move things along. He then warns me that he's going to have to tell them that I have oversized tires on the Jeep.....OK...I run 275/75/18 which is roughly a 32" (stock is 30.5").
So I call Chrysler...blah blah blah they say what they are supposed to andd they will look into it but cant see why it shouldnt be covered considering there is only 19000 km on.
So now I sit and wait....and wait...and wait.... I dont hear anything for almost a week and then its only to say that they had to send pictures to their tech team. So then I hear back 2 days later which makes it a week and a day to decide. They say that they wont be covering the t-case.
So now apparently they can tell if theres a defect in something from pictures hahaha. I hear back from Chrysler Canada about 8 hours after I hear from the service manager at Manley's. I ask to talk to someone so I can pursue this case further as I dont agree with their decision and she says that there is no-one higher that will take my call...thats a bunch of bull**** !!!!

So ok they wont cover it and my local dealer I normally deal with ask me to bring it in and they will try and fight for me. Over the last two days they fought and got no where at all. So now from what I understand my whole powertrain warranty will be void becasue I ran a 1.5" bigger tire on my Overland.
The part that piss me off the most are that Ive been getting my Jeep serviced since new at 3 different dealers over the year and a half. The whole time Ive had those tires on and not one of them had warned me about them being on there and maybe affecting my warrant. Also the first t-case and two steering racks were replaced while I had those tires on.
I guess Ive learned to stay with the places you know and maybe should've had it towed to my regular dealership. So this service manager with his greasy grin has now screwed me out of not just the factory warrant but also the extra warranty I paid good money for.
I do know that yes any modifications can void a warranty but come on, an inch and a half extra of tire.
I would try and persue this further but I'm not sure I have the energy to do so in dealing with the usual morons who know nothing about cars that sit behind these phones.

Sorry for the rant but I had to vent and what better place than here where I dont have to physically raise my voice lol.

First thing you should ask the individual you're talking with is how the larger tire exactly caused this fault. By law, the warranty can not be voided unless the mod at hand DIRECTLY affects the failed part.

I would keep fighting if I were you.

Wow, what a total suck job. As he others stated... fight this. And yes there are people higher up the food chain than general CSR's. if you choose to argue the claim. Keep records of all correspondence. Maybe even send a certified letter requesting a written explanation as to why this is not a covered repair.

Ok so you guys have inspired me to try and do something about this crap. If anyone on here knows of any contacts for Chrysler Canada other than the one on their site and in the booklet please help me out.
The one and only number they give wont let me bypass talking to the case manager after putting in my vin, which you have to do or so it seems.

I had to go to court to force GM to honor their warrantee.

Keep immaculate records of who you talked to and what they told you. You paid alot of money for both the vehicle and the warranty & their own trained people NEVER once told you that you're at risk of damage or voiding your warranty running those bigger tires. Even if you were running 38 super swampers it shouldn't have caused the t-case and chain to fail. You have JG behind you!

I'll donate $1 for your attorney fund if you need it!

Who says the dealer has to tell you you're in danger of voiding your warranty? I've gone to dealers with previous cars that had all kinds of mods done and they rarely ever said anything. I was even pleasantly shocked when one dealer gave me a free alignment under warranty because I went in to get it done after having the car lowered. I was fully expecting to have to pay for it. But if an issue ever arose, I certainly wouldn't have been shocked that the dealer or manufacturer was going to deny the claim. In eternollie's case, the dealer may have previously replaced the t-case and steering rack under warranty with the oversize tires on, but Chrysler will probably just say they shouldn't have done it. I agree that it sucks, but I think this is going to be a really tough one to fight. Oversize tires (regardless of how minimal the increase) is a surefire way to raise the red flag on a drivetrain-related warranty claim.

Im sure it was replaced the first time without them even looking at the tires. now that you went in for the same repair so quickly i am sure they looked over the vehicle for any reason to find out how it is possible that you have blown two transfer cases when 99.999999% of the other wk2s are still running fine on their original t-case.

Re: Warranty BS!!!

One of the reasons they will saythe tires wont cover it is because of True Mileage Unknown. The other circumference of the tire is different there over time the mileage will be different thus no one "actually" knowing when you hit your 36k 100k ect mileage.

This is one reason.
