Lamin-X "Smoked" Reviews?

Anyone running their Smoked color? I am concerned that Gunsmoke might be too light. I know Charcoal is too dark.

Thanks.

I believe I have the smoked version. It's a tad dark for me but the lighter shade was going to be too light in my opinion.

To tell you the truth, I'm going to take mine off and paint them. The material is so thick that it can't be wrapped around the edges and doesn't adhere good to that indent on the inside light. Plus with paint I can achieve the darkness I want.

Thanks man. Appreciate the info. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of your current tail lights?

i think that looks sick. i just ordered me a set of film... did you have to heat it to apply it? how hard was it to install?

I bought the film after seeing Fumanchu's taillights. It takes alot of heat and alot of patience to get them to look as good as his. I ripped this stuff off after struggling to get the film to wrap around the crease of the inside taillights and to keep bubbles out of the film. All I can say is good luck, it's alot harder than tinting windows because of the shape of the taillight. In conclusion, I will be having mine painted as well.

If the lights were relatively flat it wouldn't be so bad but that inside light is a killer and the Lamin-x will eventually lift up. To install it needs heat and a lot of patience. I highly recommend having somebody else do it with some kind of experience.

I'm going to take the Lamin-x off an paint em. I'm going to practice first on a old set of Tahoe taillights I have.

those look like Gun Smoke to me and not Smoke. i put gun smoke on mine this spring, and they still look perfect, they stuck great and havent started to peel off in any way. i have some experience with vinyl but am by no means an expert, but i had no problem putting the tail light tint on. it did take some time and a little heat, NOT a lot! i think if u put to much heat it will actually hurt you. Just my to cents

post # 20 is a pic of my jeep with the Lamin-x Gun Smoke tint.
