In car navi HELP!

Hey guys, I just tried to update my RHR radio with the latest firmware. The firmware update failed and now the screen is on and stuck. I cannot power down the radio by turning off the car and it is not responsive.

Is there anyway to power down the radio? I understand I can with the fuse? Where can I find the fuse and which one should I pull?

Thanks

Ok I was able to find the fuse (M12) and pull it out. However when I put the fuse back in it goes straight to the update screen again and that goes no where. Anyway to reset it where it does not go back to the update screen?

Re: In car navi HELP!

Ok I just resolved my issue. I had to re-plug the hdd, that contained the update, back to the USB port. Then plug the fuse back in the car, and wait 5 minutes with a blank update screen (with a prayer it will work). Then all of a sudden the update continued and the completed.

I have to say the update is a pain in the ass.

I downloaded the ISO, (1) burned it onto a DVD and also (2) extracted the files onto a HDD. When I tried to use the DVD, the software update tells me it is incompatible. I then tried the HDD method and the first time, earlier today, it failed saying something like corrupted file. Later the day when I started my JGC, I left the DVD update in, the radio booted up and told me I can now upgrade my firmware (even though earlier the day it told it was incompatible). Start that process and then it fails. I tried the HDD method again and it seems to work until it also failed and locked up. That's when I panicked and asked for help to cut power to the navi unit.

I don't think I will update my radio again.. If it fails and doesn't recover, it's one expensive brick.

@Pillbucket

I was scare sh-tless I bricked my navi unit. I'm glad I was able it to work again.

@Padgett

How did you use an SD card? Was it a combo with a sd card reader?
