squealing when i let off

Like the title says whenever i let off the throttle while cruising upto a light the jeep makes a faint squealing noise. It goes away at the lightest amount throttle...

Im not sure where to start looking. Any ideas??

Re: squealing when i let off

Squeeling which is accelerator depending, most of the time has to do with the accessory belt. Check the condition of the belt and if the tension is enough. There is an automatic tensioner, but when the belt is old, it could be stretched too much and the tensioner could be at the end of its travel. Also the rubber of an older belt gets harder and the friction of it gets less.

nah cant be belt squealing. Its very faint. Like windows up or any traffic around you cant hear it. I noticed now that its sorta grinding around 35mph too. Maybe hub bearing???

Hub bearing, drive shaft CV joint, differential, propeller shaft CV/U-joint.
A lot of things that can cause a noise. I would start looking for obvious signs of teared CV boots and/or signs of leaks. Then check the diff fluid level.

ahh ok :/ yea ill have to get under there and look around. I want to change both front and rear diff fluids anyways. Whats the best fluid/(weight) for that and how many qts each?

Also how do i check the transfer case fluid? Required fluid and how many qts of that?

Ive got the quadra tracII...Not sure on which axles i have either :/

Re: squealing when i let off

Quadra tracII has open diffs, so no limited slip additive needed. I use 80W90 fluid, you could choose for 75W140 if you do towing.
Front diff = Dana 30 = 1.18 Lts = 2.5 pts
Rear diff could be Dana 35 = 1.66 Lts= 3.5 pts, or a Dana 44 = 2.24 Lts = 4.75 pts ( the Dana 44 uses an aluminum casing, so use a magnet on the casing to find out its aluminum or not. Donīt use it on the cover, since that one is always iron)
The T-case is a NV247, which uses special fluid from the stealer (which is in fact Mobil 424, which i use for 4 years now)= 1.6 Lts = 3.4 pts

Thanks bro your the best lol no homo! I tried searching it and the same question was asked like a million times about fluid...I was a tad confused with the additive part so im glad i dont need any! I just picked up a hitch so ill use the 75w140 fluid. Royal purple or mobil1?
