Towing Capacity

I am moving from Alabama to Wyoming and a car hauler can't get my cars their by the time I need them so I am having to drive my 2013 Sahara Unlimited and tow an 04 Isuzu Rodeo. Will the tow package support a car trailer and the weight of the Rodeo? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Best advice would be to check your owner's manual.

If neither vehicle can tow the other, and considering you need 2 vehicles when you arrive, could the second driver, drive the other vehicle? Or, are they flying ahead?

Ya good call. The Rodeo doesn't currently run.

3500lbs max tow so I dont think its going to cut it.

^X2,

3500 Lbs with 3.73 gears or 4.10 gears. Even on the Unlimited if you have the 3.21(standard on unlimited sahara) max tow drops to 2000 lbs

^thats good to know! I went with the 3:73 for added torque, had no idea it affected tow capacity. In fact, I informed my dealer I was towing a 2700lb boat and trailer package and they tired to talk me out of the 3:73. I now think its cause they wanted to sell me one on the lot rather than do a factory order like I ended up doing.

Thanks for all the posts. I ended up leaving the Rodeo and just drove the Jeep so no towing. But hit a deer around 4:15 am in South Dakota. Bent the bumper and shattered the passenger side fender. It also spun the deer up into my passenger side door cause there are dents all over the door. Nice way to break in the new Jeep.

I am going to replace the factory bumper with a good grill guard. Any suggestions out there?

I dig the ACE stuff and the Vwerks premium front bumper. Just keep the weight in mind while doing your research.

Noob here. I pull 3000lbs with my 2006 Rubicon Unlimited and that's about all you're ever going to want to pull with a Wrangler. (Same towing capacity on TJ Unlimited and JK Unlimited).

I'd like to know how Jeep took this picture. It doesn't seem like any trailer could be light enough to tow another Jeep on it.
