My spin on Nautural Green Pearl

Since Sandy has done a great job of knocking out power since monday I figured today would be a great day to detail the Jeep. Im not a fan of chrome and if you ask me the WK2 has too much of it. So, Ive made some improvments. First off, front windows were tinted to match the rears. Next, I removed the chrome door moldings and replaced them with black GC script. The grill and rear brow were removed, prepped, hit with epoxy primer, and painted. Same goes for the hood and hatch emblem. The grill and emblems were painted gloss black. The brow was painted body color and the emblem done in gloss black. All done in base clear so it will hold up just as well as the rest of the paint on the Jeep. Ive still got some things to do before Im content with the look. I need to find a set of wheels for it. Id like Altitude wheels but theyre kind of hard to come by. The Viper reps are another idea. I want to get a VG shark fin, vynil wrap the chrome around the windows, tint the tail lights, and take the headlights apart to paint the insides black. But, as of right now I think it looks so much better dechromed. Heres some pics....

Looks nice! Love that color. That was my first choice and when they were not available in the package I wanted, I went w/ Mineral Grey.

I want to paint the rear brow on my Jeep body color. Did you do the painting yourself or let a shop do it for ya?

Thanks! I did it myself at my shop. Matching the colorbwasbthe easy part, the standard formula was pretty close to start with. Painting the emblem black was the tricky part. Primed, painted, and cleared the brow. Then wet sanded with with 1500, brushed on the black, and recleared it. Needed to use a single stage black for the emblem because regular black base will cause the underlying paint to lift

i like how you did the color match. I want to get it done, but i don't know anyone who does it in my area.

I'm going to assume you live in CT because you have CT plates. Would you be willing to do mine since you have a shop and give a JG discount ;) ?

nice work on your jeep, i personally think it would have looked better if you color matched the grill and even the rear brow green. the black grill just doesnt seem to look as good with the darker colors. either way nice to see some mods.

JFD328- Thatd be something I could take care of for you. PM me details on what your looking to do and we can figure something out.

I would have gone body color with the grill if I could have gotten an SRT grill. I like the chrome rings around the openings. Naturally, Id paint the rings black. But everything Ive read says an SRT grill wont work with a nonSRT bumper.

I tried to take the headlights apart today to paint the insides black but appearently Im not doing something right. Put the Jeep all back together and will be ordering altitude lights
