I tapped into the fuse panel under the dash. There is an empty slot on the top right I believe. That's where I tapped into for my switch panel as well. I put a 5-10 amp fuse on the power wire to a SPST 30 amp relay that then runs to my switch. Works very slick! Especially since the whole switch panel turns off with the key. That way I never have to worry about if I turned the switches off or not.

very nice. I going the same route on mine(except blue) for the ambient lightning.I tap into the cig lighter with power once key is in.

Do you happen to have any pics of the setup for the rear lighting?

Sorry I don't have any pics. It would be hard to take a pic where the lights are. I attached the strips to the back of the front seats. There's a crossbar near the floor. I linked all the strips together in parallel. I started on the passenger side and routed the wires under the center console over to the driver's side. Basically making a giant "U" shape.

They are actually the Dually's with diffused lenses and not the D2's. I wired them up to a switch panel that I have all my lights on. I made a custom one out of plexi glass that fit in the cubby hole next to the steering wheel for easy access. I didn't want to mess with trying to tie them into the reverse lights. I use them not only for backing up but also when I'm hooking up trailers at night. Here's a pic of the switch panel:
