Installed Bt catch can

So, Finally installed my BT Catch can on my 5.7. I had to use some extra hardware to make it happen.

1. A 6" inch corner bracket at home depot.
2. An extra nut and bolt( forgot what size)

I installed it in the lower left hand corner(passenger side) of the engine bay, using a pre existing bolt located on the wall to hold the 6 " inch corner bracket in place. The catch can seats perfect about at about an inch below the lowest exiting nozzle on the intake manifold. So that the flow of oil from the intake manifold flows in a downward direction straight into the catch can. I then attached the Z bracket opposite side of bracket with a bolt, washer and nut.

The only thing I have not installed is the hoses. Unfortunatly, the hoses that came with the can were not long enough, so I will be heading back to home depot or elsewhere to find compatible hoses.

Best of all it sits in the only area of the engine bay that is open, the can be unscrewed very easily, and the engine cover can still be used.Sorry for the messy picture, It was a pain to get that bracket in because the bolt wasn't threading properly until I applied some force.

Will take another picture when I finish tomorrow

Make sure to use stiff walled, heavy duty reinforced hose, and do not use what they sell at Home Depot or auto parts stores for coolant. BT supplies 2 lengths of air brake hose, which you can get from truck supply stores.

Hose should be labelled for oil, gas, or resistant to gas/diesel vapors for venting service. Otherwise, oil/gas vapors will deteriorate it.
Reinforcement is a plus, since it resists possible collapse from manifold vacuum.

I ended up going top AutoZone and purchasing the same size hose as fare as the inside diameter goes; however, it was not reinforced like the ones from billet. Though they did say I would be fine using the ones they provided me, told me they were hoses for oil. I think the hoses i bought said about 350psi on it. I will check the truck supply stores. Thanks guys

After only 150 miles of driving I opened up my catch can, and here's what I saw....... It really works..

I ended up with heater hose (which is literally 10x cheaper than air brake hose and gets the job done). My BT can gets emptied every oil change and there's usually a couple of tablespoons of oil in there.

That seems like a decent amount of oil for 400 miles...when is the last time you checked your PCV valve? I guess it could be like that if you drive pretty hard though. I've seen guys on here fill their cans up on a track day...

After reading a bunch of threads around this forum and taking a look at my TB after I decided to replace my spark plugs, I totally believe that a catch can is a must on a 5.7L HEMI.

Here you'll see why I believe my engine needs one ASAP...

and for sure the engine needs a good deep clean under the hood...

Does anyone knows if for this Thanks Giving there's going to be any special discount on Billet Tech?

Is the catch can p/n 20010 the right one for a 2007 JGC Limited 5.7L HEMI?

Thanks guys!

Well guys,

After looking a little bit over the web I found this:

Billet Tech Sale 11/16/12 ONLY. Save 40% - Cherokee SRT8 Forum

Over that forum the guy said that he received an email from BT stating that next Friday there will be a discount up to 40%... :D

Digging more I found this from BT website:

Itís Coming: 11/16/2012 | Billet Technology

Which might support the previous statement...

I'll be watching close next Friday, I'm planning to buy a Catch Can and save 40%

Cheers
