Off Road Tires

Back in April, we took delivery of our new 2012 JG Cherokee Overland. Before I take it off road, I would like to upgrade the standard Micheline tires with a slightly larger off road tire with a more aggressive tread. Since the vehicle has the air suspension system, I suspect the tires cannot be much larger than the factory rubber. The current tire size is: P265/60R18.

Does anyone know of a suitable off road tire that would work for my Jeep? Many thanks...

Re: Off Road Tires

Not sure about sizing for the overland but I've personally run Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's on my old WJ and now run Cooper Discoverer A/T3's. Both have been extremely impressive. Good and quiet on the road and very capable off road as well. These aren't really "off-road" tires like you'd find on a Wrangler Rubicon but I think both are very capable for any trail you'd want to run in a WK2. If you're really looking for a tough off road tire, look at the Goodyear Wrangler MTR or BFGoodrich Mud Terrain line.

Re: Off Road Tires

275/55/20 is the largest size you can run on the 20s, if you will be doing some serious offroading often you might want to consider buying some 18s
