Dynomax cat-back 39513 -- HP gain??

Just a curious question

Anyone know how much HP this system could add to the 5.7? I installed it a few weeks ago and it made a noticeable difference on the top end.....so I got curious and went to dynomax's website.....to my surprise no dyno numbers....they have them for the Durango though. C'mon Dynomax....where is the love?

That's funny because I had it installed for a few days and didnt notice any increase in HP. Only thing I noticed was the obnoxious sound and drone.

Although you may notice some changes initially, the engine computer will adjust for the flow difference and you end up with just a placebo effect. Any HP difference is in the noise. The engine may run different if you now are always hammering it as the computer will think that's the driving style you like, and adjust to be a little more responsive.

.01. You gain the noise, and butt dyno thinks it's faster.

I've had mine for a long time now (still loud as hell) and I also think it pulls much harder on the top end. Just for shits and giggles I raced a co-worker many weeks ago. He has a 2010 BMW X5 4.8i.......we were goofing around on the freeway so all runs were from 60ish to...???. I smoked his a$$ everytime.

Also had a guy pull up next to be at a stop light just to tell me that it sounds bad a$$.......never had that happen before. :)

To the OP, if Dynomax has gains listed for the latest Durango, ours would be identical.

Now that I've had the system installed for awhile it has broken in and sounds even better IMO. You're right though on the top end comment.....placebo effect my ass....I know it made a difference.....not a huge one but it is noticeable.

You're in Houston right? I live in the Clearlake area...we ought to meet up sometime...we can start a wk2 club....lol

Haha! WK2 club....that sound exciting. LOL!!
Yea, I'm just north of Houston.....out shopping for some tires right now. Looks like I'll have to order what I want because no one stocks or sells the size I want.

Well I was trying really hard to find some different wheels that I liked and that I could afford. I found some but just couldn't convince myself that they would look right sooooooo I ended up getting a set of staggered 22" SRT replicas.....just like everyone else. Haha!! So I'm shopping for 265/45 r22 for the fronts and 305/40 r22 on the rear.

I went back and forth on the staggered option.....I've actually been thinking of selling my 22"s and getting them.....can't wait to see what yours looks like. Heinie you already have the eibach springs do you think you'll have rubbing issues?

I hope not. I've seen some pics of different wheels with the same size tires on lowered Jeeps but I don't know the offset on those wheels. I just hope they are pretty close to the SRT replica wheels.
