Transmission/Radiator failure

Well, It's a 2005 SRT8 conversion with every factory option which I have driven very little and it lost the tranny at 10,512 miles.

Needless to say, I'm done with Chrysler products and have been in a Jeep for the last 10 years and I will not do it again. Chrysler's QC is crap and always have been crap.

It's been driving fine, then will stall out at a stop sporadically. Taken to the dealer, no issues found. Drove it 100 miles to teach a SWAT course in Lagrange, KY about 50 mile each way from me; drove fine. Parked in the garage overnight, went to work in the morning and WHAM!!! Game over backing out of the driveway. It threw a MIL P0700 and massive noise, will not shift out of first.

Pulled the dipstick and not a drop on the stick, no leaks or drips... Checked the radiator and it is full of tranny fluid.

Sending it down the road. Going in to get the tranny fixed and going down the road. Dealer says catastrophic tranny, transmission cooler and radiator failure and will cost about $5,000 to fix.

Since I will only buy a domestic vehicle and refuse to give any money to a company whom took a bailout, here is my Christmas present in 2009.

2010 Ford F250 Super Duty Harley Davidson Edition with 6.4L Turbo Diesel and every factory option (MSRP: $67,495. Negotiated with trade/discounts, X-Plan pricing = $44,500 + taxes, license title).

Sorry for the rant... I'm just seriously p*ssed off. I mean a truck I've had almost 5 years with a significant investment and 10,500 actual miles, come'on... Never again...

The wife's '04 Special Edition has had 3 trannies in it, now all the electronics are going to pot. The power windows controller went out on the drivers side and the passenger door lock solenoid went last weekend...

My WK was a garage queen. Never been rodded, off road, driven in the rain, etc... In fact it has never seen gravel...

That's too funny! Seriously, this truck is so tall the step is pretty much required to get in the bed.

Their looking into it... They believe that the radiator failed inside causing it to suck all the fluid out of the tranny and into the cooling system. My guess it that it will not be covered as it is a radiator failure and not probably covered under the powertrain warranty.

ww.car-part.com is your friend. Ask IJeep. he was quoted $2200 for a transfer case and bought the part for $135 and $300 labor to replace. $435> $2200. The dealer is on crack......

Wow...that is pretty messed up, and I hope that its covered under warranty. It should be. Its like you meant for this to happen, especially when the WK was a garage queen. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Nice truck by the way! The wheels are pretty sweet!
