Something with fuel
Ok so here is my problem.

The other day my Jeep stalled out. There was black smoke so it was running rich. i pulled out the spark plugs and they were black. Kinda powdery stuff on them. Changed that and it was fine for 2 days and now its happening again. it would stall out as you are driving but then it would be fine and then would do the stalling again as as you keep driving and keep the foot on the gas it would be fine again. right now its fine but i do not want to drive it until the problem is fixed. What can it be?

Re: Something with fuel
A friend of mine suggested changing the PCV valve. Just did that and had to remove valve cover because the grommet was hard as hell. Been fine for a couple of days now its back to puffing out black smoke and stalling. What could be the problem? I'm leaning towards computer issue, but have no clue where to start. Any suggestions?

Re: Something with fuel
Turn the key in the ignition on-off-on-off-on and the check engine light will flash codes. That should at least get you someplace to start. HTH

Re: Something with fuel
I did that and the only codes that came up were 12 and 55. both useless. Any other suggestions?

Re: Something with fuel
Check for leaking injectors. O2 sensor good? Throttle Position Sensor good? Coil/distributer/wires good?
