I hate to say it but I'm looking at the f150 ecoboost

So my Dad has always been a Ford guy so naturally I was a chev guy since I bought my first car. I have issues with buying a car from the government and since my wife DESTROYED my old chev I'm looking for a new one, probably 1-2 years out but the research has started. I have really been looking at the F150 with the ecoboost motor. Set-up right towing is 11300 which is plenty for anything I'll ever haul. I do enough unloaded daily driving to really benefit from the mileage of the V6. How do you all like them?

Lets hear the good bad and ugly. I almost hope someone talks me out of it because that would be a huge walk of shame the first time I showed it to my Dad ha ha. I would really like a new body style dodge with a cummins, but I can't ignore the better mileage from the ford and the difference in towing really isn't enough for me to worry about for what I do. Plus diesel is effin expensive.

I'm also concerned about ride and interior quality, I was spoiled with my nice soft ride and bose stereo in my chev. Seems like the fords I have driven aren't near as good for seats, stereo, ride quality, etc.

For the record I haven't driven one yet.........it's way too easy to get financing and I may make a hasty decision in my excitement. http://www.backcountryrebels.com/ima...es/leghump.gif

I have. I'm just not as impressed with the specs and what you get. I'm a chryco fan, I have jeeps and love them. I just think the ford is about the best right now, for what I'll use it for anyways.

The Ford is the best truck on the market right now. The only thing I can say I dislike about them is you can't get an extended cab + short bed, which is why I have a Jeep (the F150 wouldn't fit in my garage).

That and they don't have a proximity key, but the '13 Ram is the first truck to offer that at all.

I have heard real life fuel economy can be very far from published numbers. I think it was acidcold that went from a wk1 to an eco boost f150, and I believe he is where I heard that.

The heck with "eco", go for a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L!

I had read a while ago that Ford had a small diesel, along the lines of the VM Motori, in development for the F150 but decided to hitch their wagon to the ecoboost instead. Big mistake, IMO. if they made an F150 that towed 10,000 lbs & got 25 mpg highway...I'd consider it.

Ecoboost is close. Tows 11300 and gets 22ish
