DEI OEM security/start "upgrades".

I dont want to carry an extra remote at all, and I see Viper and Avital have OEM upgrade kits. Anyone have any experience with them, as in working properly and even installing themselves? I have a gift card for an alarm shop near me, but I know install charges will be high so I want to get the best system I can and install it myself, which im confident I can do my own. Please dont bother commenting if your just going to say have it installed by a shop, lol.

Also the Viper 5901/5901/and 5701 do look good for a complete security/start system. But again that means I need to carry an extra remote which I want to stay away from.

I'm sure there's a way. My 03 maxima they were able to program the OEM remote to do the remote start and alarm.

Depending on if you have an iPhone and what kit you get...You can control it with that and then avoid having to carry another fob around!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but its def a cool feature to lose the fob!

I saw that feature also with the Viper systems, too bad i dont have an Iphone. lol. but it says you can start your car from anywhere using an Iphone if you have the more recent Viper systems and buy an additional feature to program it.

Me, I just want a simple alarm that goes off if the doors are opened or car is broken into and it starts the car from my livingroom.

How much was it? Install it yourself or shop do it? The 5902 does have alot of features. That has the "smart start" which is compatible with the VSM 100 Iphone thing. And the display looks cool.

^^^ Yea that alarm does look pricey even searching around online. All I have is a $300 gift certificate at an alarm shop so I think im going to have to install it myself.
