Enabling DRL on Laredo
i was wondering if i had my dealer enable daytime running lights on my Laredo if they would be on the low beam or the high beam? My insurance company just reduced my insurance for having the backup camera and adding the parksense kit, they told me if i had DRLs that i would get another discount being a safety feature.

The service rep or tech can hook up a device that wirelessly talks to their main computers. Then they navigate to what appears to be a web page on their system.

Brought up graphic display of the vehicle systems.
Click on the icon right above the OBDII connection (PCM--something or other).
In that sub-system, go to the 2nd tab from the right.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom.
Edit DRL entry (activate).

He almost missed it. I saw it and pointed it out.

Couple notes:
#1 - as I believe someone else mentioned, they turn off in Park and activate when the shift lever moves out of Park (and the park brake isn't on).
#2 - They stay on if the headlight switch is in Auto (daylight), Off, or the marker light position (provided you aren't in Park).
#3 - When a turn signal is activated, the light on that side will go out to ensure the turn signal is highly visible.

After time you will notice brown deposits inside your high beam bulbs. This is from running the halogen lights at less than full power. Nothing you can do about it. I read that running your high beams (full power) will help dissipate the deposits, but I've yet to have any success.

Seriously considering LED bulbs for the high beam so that doesn't happen....
