New vehicle tire

I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer.

1. Wondering if anyone has had the dealer do a tire swap on their vehicle before they took delivery? If so, how much extra (if any) was it? I want to get different tires than the OEM.

2. If I go from 265/60R18 to 265/65R18, would the dealer calibrate the speedometer for the new tires?

Re: New vehicle tire

1. There have been a couple of people here who have mentionned that they were able to do this. I was not able to and did it with an idie. He gave me $75 per tire trade in off a better than TireRack price on the replacements.
2. I don't know, but don't imagine the difference would be more than 1 or 2 mph more. There are others here who can answer this.

1. I as well went to an indie shop to put on Cooper Zeon LTZs 275/55/20. I called a bunch of shops and finally found one that would buy my tires off me.
2. The dealerships cannot recalibrate your speedometer for the difference but as mentioned above it will only be a 1-3 MPH difference depending on the overall diameter of the tire. The only way to recalibrate would be through a tuner which will hopefully be out shortly. You can search other threads about the tuner topic.
