2012 noise on wet roads
First drive in the wet and a very distracting noise from within all wheel arches. After getting it is the water noise, and that when there is deeper water laying on road, there is more noise, I then check the wheel arches. The arches are lined with a synthetic material like a carpeted cardboard, it could be this that makes the noise. It could be tyres that make the noise when loaded with excess water. Who has the answer and who has relined the wheel arches.

The wheel well material is there for sound proofing from road and tire noise. I don't think you want to change that.

Hi Big T,

I have an JGC Overland and is not an issue. I am in brisbane and currently it is very wet.
i HAVE 20'' wheels on my Jeep and road tyres and the noise is less and/or no different to toyota vehicles used at work

Mine used to be realy noise in heavy rain but not because of the rain hitting the fender liners it was going in and out of 4wd trying to get traction.
