Pricing tips 2003 Jeep Startech

Hey guys I am new to the forums....wish I would have found this forum when I bought my jeep back in 2006!

The reason I am posting is because I am looking to sell my Jeep......which makes me extremely sad to think about. I am moving to Australia and cannot take my Jeep with me...... I am crying inside right now just thinking about selling it.

So I cannot figure out what price I should put on my Jeep. I did the Kelly Blue Book thing but they do not list my jeep lol. The best comparison I could do priced out at around $6,600 for private sale.

What I have:

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Startech. This is the actual Startech package and not just the add ons. The engine, suspension, braking system and all the body and interior.... everything was customized by the Startech company in Germany.

So basically the specs in a nutshell:

2003 Jeep Startech
4.7L with some engine mods to beef up the horsepower like K&N cold air intake system and other techy stuff (too much to really list).

112k miles. Serviced regularly, no oil leaks, absolutely spotless engine tbh. Transmission is perfect. I have babied this Jeep!

Sports suspension package
Sports braking package
Flow Master single exhaust

Startech rims, with chrome sideskirts, chrome front brush guard with body molding, chrome rear brush guard.

The interior is all startech as well with the startech chrome illuminated panels on the driver and passenger step. The wood grain Startech steering wheel. Startech shifter logo setup along with the startech floor mats and a whole bunch of other stuff. Plus I have all the pioneer indoor speakers and tweeters and cd deck.

Just alot of stuff to my Jeep and I cannot figure out how much I should sell it for.

I want to be reasonable but I LOVE MY JEEP SO MUCH and with just tht I want to sell it for 50k lol (I knwo I will not get that out of it.)

So just wanted a few ideas from anyone who may have a ball park range I could get away selling this for!

Here are some pictures:

Beautiful rig!

Depends on if you can find someone that cares that it's as rare as it is...if I were in the market, for a 10 year old Jeep with 112k...I'd be hard pressed to want to spend more than $5k. If there was ever any 10 year old Grand worth a few extra bucks though, it's yours. Looks showroom from the pics!

Nice Jeep! I'd buy it if you were close!

I'd ask 6k but realistically would take 5.5k. You might get lucky with a Jeep-fanatic who would pay 6k but that be rare. It's also depends what your willing to let it go for.

When I got mine, it was 9 years old with 91,000 miles on it. Paid 6k out the door.

Thanks guys, I do keep it clean. I have been told on several occasions from mechanics changing the oil that it is the cleanest undercarriage and engine they have ever seen when it comes to the year.

Hopefully I can find some interested buyers when I put it up for sale. Anyone have any recommendations as where I should list it? Autotrader, craigs list.....?? lol I'm not sure what to do seeing as I have never sold a vehicle personally before.

Just to throw this out there, the StarTech upgrades alone roughly cost 22 grand. So you can see as to why I am troubled with the pricing. Suspensions and braking systems alone where 10 grand

It's the mileage that will kill you. Most people see 112xxx miles and instantly think that the car will have problems and not even take into consideration the previous owners abuse and/or care towards it.

Craiglist and Autotrader are the two places I've had success buying/selling cars or things.

The StarTech package realistically won't add that much onto the value over a bone stock Overland to be honest unfortunately. I had the shifters and parking brake in my GC and the quality was top notch (until the chrome started to bubble a little 2 winters ago).

The advantage is the fact it will make yours more desirable so you could probably add say $500 - 750 over the price of a Overland.

I will say though, I absolutely loved the ST rims absolutely beautiful...

Good luck with the sale.

It might be the picture, but you should give the headlight some restoring/rubbing care and remove the haze from them, would make it stand out even more.
