OK, I'll be in Detroit to see the real thing to make a final call, but, what happened? That grille, those Audi-esque lights? Hmmm.

Hideous. I feel bad for whoever waited for a '14.. I hope that's not how the production model looks

Tell me you're not serious! That's awful...have you been snacking on those glowing fish in Lake Ontario again?

That's not what it looks like. I saw one today in SF today while on my way to work. The styling is very similar to the SRT8 except it has the euro style LED bulbs lining the headlamps and the rear bumper is painted and integrated like the pix from the other thread. The grille was the same as it is now.

If you asking how. Last week was the Auto show and it had Detroit plats. It was impossible to get a shot unless i went running after it. Sorry guys.

maybe you saw an SRT ...Not to mention all of the previous masked images show the same lines as the spy shots released this week.

But the last 10 are hideous lol... One of my fave parts of my jeep is the headlights/front end and I think they downgraded it personally

Has little to do with styling and a lot with aerodynamics and maintaining the trademark:

The seven slot grille is one that Jeep fought on the Hummer so It Will Be There. At the same time Jeep deperately needs to improve the cdA down to at least "small barn door". Anything over 10 ('12 is 11.6) is going to have a tough time with the evolving CAFE.

Two little things are evidence of just how hard CJF is trying: the belly pan under the engine and the two spoilettes under the front bumper. The latter being to disrupt the drag caused by air flow over the lower exposed part of the front tires that try to act like an air pump. Same thing that causes aquaplaning.

This is why I wonder if the '14 is slighly - 1/2 to 3/4 inch - longer than the '12 at the center of the bumper to improve air flow over the lower part of the grille. We'll know once the specs are released.

Yet another reason to dump the hemi and go all V6: will be able to rake the nose that much more.

This is just part of what I am seeing. Do wonder if at speed, the new grille is designed to act like a shutter and reduce through air flow at the top becoming a bottom breather. The RAM HFE needed grille shutters to create a bubble, bet the flow over the GC bumper/grille does that naturally. Be interesting to see the smoke test.
