2.7 crd fuel leak
hello, its fozzie from the uk, have a 2004 2.7crd wj overland had it 4wks now its decided to have a diesel leak from the fuel injection pump somewhere but only intermitantly mainly first start up, it seems to be a common fault on this fuel pump o ring seals apparently. has anyone had a go at repairing the seals or is it dealer/bosch agent. seen pics of seals & pump assembly but would like to hear it from someone else as it looks a pig to get it away from the engine.

Re: 2.7 crd fuel leak
cheers nhwk05 thats what i thought you guys have cheap petrol over there we get ripped off over here, price is $1.73/1.08 per ltr same for diesel so we all opt for diesels more mpg

Re: 2.7 crd fuel leak
Trust me, I wish we could have more Diesels in more regular vehicles over here and not just big rigs and pickup trucks and the handful of small suvs and cars with diesels in them.

My father in law has the 2.7 CRD in a Liberty (06 model i think) and i Wish i had bought a 2008 3.0 CRD WK but i could not afford it.

Re: 2.7 crd fuel leak
Hey Fozzie,
I had a same problem a year ago!
Found a spare O ring kit at Bosch for 30 and did it myself.
Not a big deal, just need to be careful when you install new O-R, because you have two sizes in the kit.
Hope to hear the good news from you!

Re: 2.7 crd fuel leak
hi everyone latest news car went in on 23-01-10 went to pick it up a week later the garage were great handed me the keys and that was it, so you would think, they parked it on a slop sideways so i start her up and now the coolant warning light was on i checked under the bonnet for fuel leakage then drove her onto flat ground to see if the light went out it did'nt so reopened bonnet and to my surprise there was fuel spraying everywhere so showed the guy who sold me the car who was all sorry about it all so another week later the mechanic said water level is fine and the pump was leaking from a blanking plate which was retightened & tested so picked her up yesterday and all is fine thank god as we are getting snow again here next week and i live on a hill its great to have jenny the jeep back, :D
