Help where to place phone mount

I cant figure it out, there seems to be no good place to place a phone mount in the wk2, Anyone have success in finding a good place? Why type of phone mount did you use?

This is the one I had in previous vehicle and I had a perfect place for it
Amazon.com: Scosche IUH3 Mobile Grip-IT Swivel Mount Kit (Black): GPS & Navigation I

I also found this
http://www.panavise.com/pdf_indash/75122-211.pdf
but seems horrible because it blocks a vent!

There was another custom one I found, but it is to the right of the cup holders, in the way of leg room and comfort for the passenger, horrible!

Nice!

hard to tell from the pictures, but does it cover the top left corner buttons or screen?

For me it doesn't but it might for other drivers, then there's the option of putting it on the passenger side LOL.

I'm sure the amount that it obscures the radio depends on the size of your phone device. Mines covers the seek up/down buttons which happen to also be on the back of the steering wheel. I will get a photo to post.

I ran my power internally behind the dash, it is plugged into the cig outlet in the dash storage. I drilled a hole in the top of the box and ran the wire up to the vent duct and drilled another hole to route it out the vents so it is all hidden till it comes out the vent and plugs into the phone mount.

Does look nice, One of my worries was what to do with the wire...
I have the sIII which looks similar to the stand you have if not the same one, now the question becomes is it TOO big to put up there and if that gooseneck is a better option, seeing how the gooseneck is a bit cheaper I think I'll try that first before having to cut holes
