Anyone else with burnt/damaged DRLs?

4 Attachment(s)
Reading through some of the threads here and noticed some people are having issues with their DRLs.

Went out to check mine and discovered the same thing happening. Burnt sockets and damaged reflectors. Not happy

Has everybody else checked their lights? Is this covered by warranty?
Thinking of changing them to LEDs to reduce the heat output.

I haven't heard anyone claim they haven't the problem other than the guys that pulled their DRL relay.

Hi Bob,

Have you replaced your lights or removed your relays?

Just checked mine.......... Straight in to the dealer with this one....This is surely the grounds for a recall, they look S*&t.

Too late in the day to investigate tonight, but can the smoke residue on the reflector be cleaned somehow once the globes are removed?

I've done 12k and yes, they look like crap. I'll be ringing the dealer next week to see what they say.

yes I have the same problem, pulled the fuses at 6k. I expect the DRL's socket to get more burned out + more smoke residue on reflector once jeep gone through a Auzi summer.

I pulled my relay's when I first read a post on here, with about 1500 k's on the clock they had already started to discolour . Will definetly bring it up at my first service.

Cheers

I too pulled my relays out at around 2000k's. At around 7000k's I fitted some LED DRL's and whilst I was changing them noticed a very slight dark tinge to the plug.

Haven't looked at them since fitting the LED's though, so don't know if they are getting worse or not.

Havn't noticed this but I have some slight discolouring on the chrome surround inside the headlight - I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it gets any worse.

My 13' SRT doesn't.....I just took the bulbs out and the housing is perfect.
