Parking / handbrake problems
Hi when I apply the hand brake I have resistance for 3 to 4 clicks then the lever just comes up with no resistance but when I push it back down it stops then have to push button in to release the 3 to 4 clicks off brake. any ideas guys :(

Sounds as a problem within the handbrake lever itself. Did you already remove the cover to see what is happening?

Hi no not yet thought I would post an use the greater wisdom off you all did not want to start disassembly until I new what I was getting into its a 3.1 td yes the dreaded vm boat engine but someone has to have one I'm trying to get hold off a service and repair manual for it ( 3.1 td 2001 grand cherokee limited ) but its like trying to find hens teeth any help on these would be much appreciated :):):)

I think that you can use the manual for the 4.0/4.7 for the brake system, eventhough i don't think you would find a lot of info about the handbrake. I think that there is no other way then removing the cover over the handbrake lever and see if something strange is happening there.
