I have been looking at ways to help improve the life of my transmission. One thing that I keep running into is the popular Trans-Go kit coupled with the Sonnax pressure booster.
I have had a bad history with transmissions. I do not drive it hard enough to warrant a shift kit (also do not want to mess with internals like servos and valve body), but I like the idea of more pressure to the lines of the trans for proper friction and reduction of friction related heat.
I guess what I am trying to get at in the long rant it this: Has anyone just installed a pressure booster and not done a shift kit of anything along that nature.... If not, any foreseeable negative affects of installing just a pressure booster with OEM internals and thoring in some full synthetic transmission fluid?

No worries. A lot of people are running the Sonnax by itself.

The pressure booster itself will probably not do any harm, i only wonder if it would do any good as well. It gives more holding power to the clutch packs, which would be good if you drive the jeep hard, but the problem of the heat buildup is mostly due to the fact that there is an overlap of the release of 1 clutch pack and the applying of the other. During this overlap period, one or both clutch packs (the applying and the releasing) have to slip, causing heat buildup and clutch wear.
The shift kit makes the shift faster, so that there is a shorter overlap period, which means less heat and less wear.
And by the way, ATF +4 is a fully synthetic fluid.

I never new that ATF+4 is fully synthetic. Good to know. I just bought the Jeep a few months ago, I am still in the learning process. So if I understood you, Frank, the shift kit would still be beneficial even if I do not drive the Jeep very hard? 90% of the driving that I do is going down the highway at 2k rpm for an hour, pull of the highway and drive about a mile, park it for about 5-8 hours, then rinse and repeat. Maybe an option would be to take it to a shop for a fluid change, and while they are doing that have them once over the internals and install a shift kit. (Assuming it is worth the time and money for my driving situation)

If 90% of your driving is highway, I doubt you'll get much extra life from higher pressure and shift kit. If you're on the highway for 90% of the time, then the TC and clutches will be locked up and not producing heat.

I would say if you stay on top of fluid changes, that's the best thing you can do.

X2. I also donīt think its worth the money in your case. If you would do lots of city driving, then maybe yes.

Awesome. That's what I needed to know. Ill just wait until the project is closed and I work closer to home to invest in trans work.
