Hey guys! Help a noober out, srt10 rims?!

Long time creeper, new poster

whatsup? I've seen some sick WJ's on here!

Here's my mod list so far
K&N 70 series air intake, full kolak exhaust 3 inch with magnaflow 70 series, magnaflow high flow cat, and DMH cutouts. Fully debadged, 5% tint over factory, taillight tint coming soon (Vinyls in mail!), quad taillight mod, Optima Yellow Top, Overland Woodgrain Steering Wheel (Cost a crapload but so much nicer than the stocker), White face gauges out of an overland, Bypassed Alpine D106 with Navigation module and bluetooth module coming soon (stupid laws going into effect soon), Two US Amps Xt4000D's (1600 RMS a piece) powering two type R 12's in a 4 cubic foot box that's under construction now.

Currently looking for a Digital Designs S4 amp and MB Quart components for my truck.

So that's my truck in a nutshell. I'm hoping to add a 2008 intake manifold to my WJ, some 206 cams, a ported throttle body and maybe even ported and polished heads, but only time will tell. Hopefully I am getting a better job in the summer that will pay me pretty much twice what I'm making now, so as the income increases hopefully the WJ will get quicker and sexier :)

Anyways, I'm looking at rims now. The absolute toughest decision you have to make when you're upgrading a car, they make or break the appearance.

I'm thinking of getting 22" SRT10 Viper Replicas for my WJ, what do you guys think? What size rubber should I run on it? I don't want rubber bands haha. After I get the rims I'll look into lowering and all that, but I don't think I will be able to lower my WJ with 22" rims and a decent sized tire, right? I'm fine with that, I just want something that fits my wheel wells perfectly, I think the 22 inch SRT10 replicas would look sick on a silverstone WJ, insight anyone?

Thanks again guys, if you have any questions about my ride I'll be more than happy to go snap some pictures for you.

they will look sick bro! Factory reproductions could recommend some sizes to ya or try the tire calculator sticky in the performance forum

I'm apprehensive because it's a lot of money. I just paid off my insurance for the year and I got xmas bills hanging out my ass at the moment lol.

What do you guys think though? Yay Or Nay? The jeep is in bed right now, just tucked her in and set the alarm on the garage :) I can take some pics tomorrow if the weather is nice! My WJ is dirty as hell though, I cant remember last time I washed her (Canadian winters, even the mild ones, suck). The oil in her is fresher than the wax on her for sure, the insides clean though lol.

Do you think 22's is a bit big? I don't want the rubber bands look, I hate that. I like the way dreamer's jeep looks with the SRT8 replicas, but I think if I did 22's with a similar size rubber (scaled up appropriately) I wouldn't need to drop my WJ, and I could just stick some stiffer springs the same size as the stockers, with new shocks, and swaybars and my ride would be good.

It's funny, I feel like a stalker. I've probably seen all your guys' cardomains haha. Definitely seen yours 00WJ, and dreamer's .. and QBNKID

i think you would be close to rubbing with 22's and a decent sidewall size, however.......... if you installed all 4 upcountry springs and added swaybars, you would get enough clearance and more firm of a ride around corners. 22's with fit though with small sidewall tires and stock height

Thanks for the input^^

I want to keep the cost of my tires down, I drive like a maniac so thats a definite expense I'm taking into account. The difference in price between a tire that fits a stock srt8 wheel and a low profile tire that fits a 22 inch rim is pretty big.

Performance is a big thing to me, I want my jeep to be fast, I like how it is now and I want to at the very least keep my current acceleration and performance. I'm at a bit of a loss here guys, guide me :(

Do I dare to be different, get 22 inch viper replicas ..... or do I go for Srt8 rims?

Perhaps just the 20 inch viper replicas and the eibach kit? That'd be the best combo, what do you guys think?

....... this post makes me seem like a raving moron with ADD, great lol.

if you are worried about performance...go for the 20's. There are several performance springs for the WJ...but I also recommend a nice set of Bilsteins shocks to go with them. Addco also makes some nice sway bars for the WJ.

x2 on everything in this post. I say go with 20's, you won't have as much clearance issues and you can get thicker tires compared to the 22's.

Given that you don't like the rubber band look and want to keep the current "performance" I just don't see where you are going to be happy with 22s. Unless you are willing to change the gearing of your axles, any tire taller than what you are running now will cause a hit to your acceleration. Going to 22s means you will have to make up the difference in overall diameter in the sidewalls and IMHO you will be in the rubber band range.

It is really a matter of what is more important to you. Be it the desire for big wheels, maintaining performance or an appealing sidewall height, something is going to have to give in order to have it all. That something will most likely be a small lift, taller gears and a larger diameter tire.

Re: Hey guys! Help a noober out, srt10 rims?!

I'm just worried that the design of the SRT10 wheels is so intricate, if its on a 20inch rim it'll look bad (too cramped).

On another note, just took the WJ upto the mountains for a 2 day snowmobiling trip. So much fun, makes you love the off road capabilities of your WJ.

Well I'll post back once I decide for sure guys, Thanks for all the help I really do appreciate it!
