Steven's 04 Limited

I would like to start off by saying this site is great and have gotten many useful tips and how-to's just in the short time I have had this Jeep. I usually do something to it every week so I will do my best to keep this updated.

I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee limited. 4.7 V8. 17 inch wheels. BLUE.

Day 1 when I bought the new money pit!!-

Had to give her a little bath and some shine when I got home-

First thing that I did was remove all the badges: Took about 15 minutes to do. I used a heat gun and a plastic putty knife with the tip wrapped in a thin microfiber cloth. After the badges were off I made sure to get all the adhesive off and put down a little bit of wax. In total it took about 30 minutes.-

Had to get some tint on the front windows. The light burns!!!:
Windows were tinted to match the rear which is 18%. I'm sure down the road the windshield will get about 60% with a 8" tint strip.-

Homebrew Mesh grill seemed like a must for me. Not usually a "chrome" fan, but I liked the way the chrome trim looked with the clear headlights. Went to the local hardware store and bought some gutter guard. Took the grill off, removed the black inserts, then cut and formed the pieces to size and put a little bit of that 2 part loc-tight adhesive along the inner edge, then threw the grill back on and BAM! $10 mesh grill! :D-

I have seen many people talking about this TCM snip.. So I too did the mod, but also added a switch so it does not always have the spark retard off-
Split the wire-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...psf2d39100.jpg
Route through firewall-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...psc4847b18.jpg
Where the switch will be under the dash-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...psf11599bf.jpg

Ordered an intake and installed it- Took about 15 minutes from start to finish.

AFE Stage 2 CAI-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...s4dd2642c.jpeg

Put some exhaust on the Jeep- Decided to go with a Flowmaster 70 with stock cats and cut the tail pipe even with the bumper. (after video was taken)
No pictures to show.. but if I can figure out how, I will upload a short sound clip. Low rumble, and very little to no drone inside.. When paired with the intake at WOT it sounds nasty!!

I noticed the headlights were a little dull.. Seems to bee a common thing with the WJ. So got out the sandpaper and polish and cleaned them up.

Since the headlights were so shiny I ended up doing the whole car. Did a good wash.. Clay bar.. M105 polish...Seal the paint... and 2 Coats of wax. TOOK ALL WEEKEND. Then it rained 2 days later -

Next thing to do was test out the 4wd.. and Catch fish!

Just put some tires on the Jeep. Ended up with some Bridgestone A/T- 245-75-17. They rub a little and will be getting a small budget boost soon. I will post up some pictures when I get a chance.

Another item currently in the works in a Oil Catch Can. Homebrew style. That should be done today or tomorrow. Will keep everyone looking posted on how it turned out and how it works. Probably can do a quick write up on it also if anyone is interested.

Thanks again for all the help so far!

Re: Steven's 04 Limited

The holidays were spent doing stuff to the Jeep.

2in BB- http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...ps60d7b0df.jpg
I was worried the 245's would look tiny with the 2inch. I think they fit perfect.

New Tail Lights. Everyone seems to call them Eagle Eyes. They look awesome-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...ps43ff049b.jpg

Bought some new ceramic pads since I hate cleaning all the dust off my wheels. When I took everything apart I figured I will just paint the calipers and bracket since I had nothing better to do.-http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...ps40d01b70.jpg

Next on the list is to do a Aux hook-up with the stock head unit without losing the 10 disc changer.

Nice looking WJ, love the tail lights.

Where exactly is your catch can connected to? I've been getting motor oil on my air filter and think installing one of them should help to correct my problem.

Re: Steven's 04 Limited

Did you get the Eagle eyes smoked or clear?

Re: Steven's 04 Limited

pavelhen- I connected the lines for the catch can by disconnecting the line from the PVC valve and installing a 90*elbow, then for the other side I just cut a sectionof the plastic tube off that you just disconnected from the pcv and put another elbow. I will take pictures of how I did it for you.

street- They are the smoked. I will take some daytime pics

No problem. I will never run a car without one again. Its amazing how much crap purposefully gets sucked into the engine.

Holy crap I have been slacking.. Work has picked up, classes have started back up, and football is in full swing. No time to play with the Jeep.

Here are some day pics of the Eagle Eyes-

http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...psacdfba70.jpg

I also blacked out the side markers. I cannot stand the way amber looks on a Jeep.. Illegal, but worth it.

Hopefully soon I am going to fab up a hitch cargo carrier that sits a little higher than the usual ones with some fishing pole holders for when I head out on the beach.
