Crd?

Any evidence that the Grand Wagoneer will get the CRD as an engine choice?

The GW could have some VERY suprising engine choices.....

I also would like to know where and when that darn CRD is coming back. I am looking to change things up a bit. I figured this board would know exactly. :D

Maybe - it's currently on the schedule, going to depend a lot on the domestic success of the CRD in the 2014 Grand Cherokee.

The 2015 GW is at this time set for a December 2014 launch.

Sitting in "Chrysler Academy" the instructor briefly mentioned talk of putting a 2.0L diesel in the grand wagoneer, then quickly changed the subject. Of course, he has since shown his knowledge to be lacking in anything other than reading a powerpoint presentation, but who knows.

I hope he meant 3.0 liter diesel. The CRD option in 2008 was the biggest factor in me buying my WK instead of another Durango when it was time to trade in our 2002 Durango.

My guess is there's going to be a turbo6 in it somewhere - possibly positioned "above" the Hemi, but with slightly less power. Hopefully they still offer the Hemi at all truthfully, the rest of the market is going towards turbo'd smaller displacement engines, and just smaller engines in general.

My guess is the Hemi will be the base engine, with the CRD and a turbo6 being slotted above it. But, they may make a turbo6 with ~320hp be the base engine.

I hope they just hurry up with the damn thing, but do it right. Don't make the mistakes they made with the '14 Overland & Summit or '14 Cherokee. Give it the black plastic trim that keeps you from having rock chips all over the place, give it some conservative styling and bumpers that aren't garish.

In short, they need to do to the old Grand Wagoneer what was recently done to the Range Rover. "Make it the same, but better"
