Weird powerband?

So maybe its just me, but does the Hemi have a "surging" powerband? I know its not linear just from looking at a dyno sheet, but....

Under full wide open acceleration, it seems to lose and gain power throughout the powerband. It doesn't feel like a problem, but it certainly feels stronger in a couple areas then others.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm hoping a tuner gets us more linear....

The programming on the Jeep is horrible. I still have no idea how these things passed inspection, and even worse was that I bought one. :)

I don't get why sometimes it runs awesome and sometimes it runs like crap. I really hate all of the big brother BS in the new cars. I paid for the HP and I want it all, all the time. :)

It does suck. Mine does the same thing

Same deal in the V6, horribly sluggish power at times other times it is quite snappy and revs fast lending more than adequate power.

In my opinion and as a performance enthusiast and as a consumer in general, it is pathetic that Chrysler would let this issue leave the factory.

The throttle response issues which must be linked to the, Timing, fuel and transmission kickdown programming is pathetic, at times my jeep has zero mind range power and must be floored to kick down into a lower gear and move.

Increadible as it seems I bought the jeep to replace my V6 Sohc Ford Explorer Sport, which had the timing Chain tensioner issue. The timing was off so the mid range power had a huge bog in it. Ironically this brand new jeep does the same damn thing.

There should have been a Re-flash of the computer to fix this issue by now. This is a huge problem that Chrysler continues to ignore.

Chrsyler/Jeep suck for letting this problem continue

yep, sometimes it falls on its face in the mid range only to start pulling hard on the top end.....hell thats most of the time. All I can do is hope that a tuner will fix this.

I think shifting it yourself may help until the fix is found.

I don't think its gearing related.

When punching it off line line in 1st gear it feels like there are lulls and peaks of power mixed throughout the power-band. Its not smooth consistent power if that makes sense.

I guess you can see the bumps in my dyno chart... And that explains what I am feeling. I wonder if a tuner will smooth this out??
