Is It just me, or would this be a good idea? Overland related

After trading my 12' Rugged Brown Summit, on a Wrangler Unlimited, I have been thinking about maybe pulling the trigger on another overland/summit. Here's my issue: I can't stand the black on the bottom and around the wheels.

Rewind to a few years back when Jeep introduced the overland In the WK model. What distinguished them from a limited? Indeed! It was there painted rocker panels!

I wish Jeep would paint the bottom trim the entire way around the Overland/Summit. I just think it would look so clean, and at least people would be able to tell the difference from a limited/overland model. (make's no difference to me about people knowing.)

Has anyone else ever thought about this?

I'd be interested in hearing others feedback. If this Is crazy, I understand! :D

There have been members here to paint the moldings you speak of.....BUT...if you look at the 2014 info sticky at the top of this forum...youll see that the 2014 Overland summit not only gets the 8 speed and 8.4 gen2 uconnect...but also the SRT painted moldings!

I don't know about the rocker trim, but I believe it's been reported that the w/o molding will be body color on the Overland and Summit.

I'm thinking the new Summit is going to turn out like a version of the S-limited all the bells and whistles like the SRT8 without the 6.4 or 6.2 this is getting really interesting. However ugh since I still don't care much for the front end the interior is going to make it or break it. Although with little tidbits about the my15 being mentioned here and there, it definitely makes me inquisitive about whats around the corner for the 2017 model :-)

Scott, do you have any idea what these two are going to look like?

New Interior Colors
Jeep Brown (Overland and Summit)
Indigo Blue/Jeep Brown (Overland)

I actually prefer the non painted look- I think it's more rugged looking as well as more durable however I do think that the upper models should have the slicker painted look to them. How about chrome moldings and trim on the Summit since that's supposed to be the fanciest. That would be almost as much chrome as the Ford F350 front end!

I was wondering today if Buick could shove anymore chrome onto the rendezvous or whatever the hell that butt ass ugly thing is called.

Personally, I wouldn't be interested in it any more. I've had vehicles where all surfaces are painted, and it's a nightmare on a larger vehicle. Paint chips happen so frequently you wouldn't believe it. Even thinking of taking a trip onto the highway will give you a rock chip on a fender flare or side skirt.

I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me, but one of the reasons I liked the Jeep was it was a bit more rugged and capable over its competition with their painted surfaces everywhere. I've said it once, I'll say it again - If I had wanted to buy a Mercedes or something in a pansy luxury mobile - that's what I'd have bought. I bought the Jeep because it had all the luxuries of a pansy mobile, with the ruggedness of a Jeep, and wasn't a horrifying experience to keep it running like a Land Rover.

Another + for the unpainted w/o moldings.
