Why do people feel the need to tell us they have an Overland?

Or a Limited, or a Summit? When the issue being discussed has nothing to do with the option level on the vehicle?

Don't they realize that their vehicle is 95% base vehicle?

Because if they don't, someone will ask. I've watched this happen in the MDX forum for the past couple of years. The MDX's for a given year all have the same drive train, brakes, etc. If an owner reports antifreeze on the garage floor, at least 3 ask about the model. Go figure.

The suspension between a Laredo without QL and an Overland differ very much for example so I think people use it as a way to clarify

...... because it's a pretty pertinent piece of info....trim level, engine, drivetrain, suspension....

Sounds more to me like you think people are showing off that they have an overland/summit/ SRT....

This site is here for us all to share info, experiences and our Jeeps. No need to hate on someone because they got a specific trim level.

Like for engine issues, tires, most visual mods...

I label what I'm talking about every time. Just in case there is a difference. Would you not want someone to be as exact as they possibly could? We all know in the automotive world that there are tons of differences. It would be impossible every time you post to think "Is what I'm talking about universal across all models or is there a difference in my model and someone else's" Just post the damn thing and be done with it.

To further your post about "tires", there is a HUGE difference. With the Quadra Lift suspension, a lot of threads have been started because people want to know what tire fits on all height levels with the air suspension. They wouldn't want to get a tire and find out that in "aero" mode they scrub horribly.

My WK is an Overland and that's a substantial difference than a Laredo
