Stone Chips

Is anyone experiencing several stone chips throughout the lower front doors to the rear doors? I only have 1800 miles...Any suggestions?

I have a few stone chips on the side as well. The wheels throw up a big amount of stones and gravel, if you drive those types of roads. I try to stay off them as much as possible but can't always be the case.

What this jeep needs is some Mud/splash guards to stop that, since the wheels are so large and grippy.

I only drive on asphalt in my subdivision and I can hear the stones kick up...I drive at very slow speeds on my street <10 mph...I've ordered the mudflaps and I willing to bet all srt's have the chips if you look really close...

I have chip problem also. Which mudflaps did you order? I wasn't aware of anyone making them for SRT8's, only WK2 non-SRT8 ones.

I was informed by technical support at husky liners that the fronts will work and the problem is with the rears...I ordered the fronts from both Husky Liner and the mopar fronts at just for jeeps...I guess I will figure it out and let you know...

I know for sure the Mopar ones will not fit. The last time I was at the dealership we tested fitted the mopar flaps and they did not work. I think another member here tried the husky liners and he had to melt it a bit to mold it, but not 100% sure on that one.

I did the 3M protection kit on the rocker panels which helped out big time.

Yeah I'm out of town till Saturday so I'll check them out then...Did you install your protection film yourself?

Re: Stone Chips

No, I had the local installer do it. Did the hood, grill, fenders, rockers, a pillars and fenders behind the rear wheels. Costs around $1,200. I wanted to the bumper as well but it was already badly dinged up and I didn't want to spend the $700 to cover it up since it was screwed already.
