Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

need help: 2000 jeep grand, heater only blows cold air. I replaced all the hoses, water pump, stat. The AC works fine in the summer. The jeep has dual controls, with both set on 85 it still blows cold air on both sides. Both heater hoses are hot. Also, what does the BCM mod do? Does this have any thing to do with my problem/

Heater core maybe gone. If so, its going to cost you around $600-1500, most of that cost is in labor since your core is behind your dash. Plus you will be out of a car for about 2 days max.

x2 I think it might be the heater core or your blend doors. I'd refer to the link that Frankie posted.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

Unlikely that it's the heater core, the blend doors have an extremely high failure rate on the WJ's. The proper repair requires removal of the entire instrument panel, an all-day process. Alternate repair methods involve cutting holes in the HVAC assembly. In either event, hold off for at least a couple weeks, Jeep is about to issue a new TSB concerning the blend doors and is releasing newly revised parts.

Definitely not the heater core. When heater cores go bad they just leak inside the interior.

Well dammit....I'll have to call my service girl tomorrow and find out if its covered under my extended warranty, or something. I'm not paying $1200+ to fix it!

Cause I've had the heater on as long as I'm driving, and it blows cold air...makes me mad!!!

In my previous 94 GC the heater wouldnt work, it turned out to be the blend door motor. The car had alot of miles so I didnt want to spend the money to repair it, my cousin who was a mechanic for dodge at the time was able to go up under the dash and move the door to full open so I had heat at least when I turned the fan on. And Scott is right, when my heater core went it filled the passenger side carpet with coolant and was soaked, that I had to replace obviously.

Its your blend doors. I just had this happen on mine and I have it torn apart in my garage as I type. There is a thread on this forum called "What is that STANK?" and it has a photo of the dash removed to replace the doors. Click on that to take you to a flikr set for reference. I decided to fix it 100% stock so I went the hard way. If you want to do it yourself and save a ton of time and money check out heater treater. Its a fix done through your glove box. This is the link http://www.heatertreater.net/Grand%2...d%2098-04.html if you need any pictures for reference or have any questions feel free to PM me. Best of luck.
