Heating seats on Overland

my front passenger seat does not heat as well as all my other seats. It can be turned all way up for an hour and nobody cares when seated. Does anyone else have this problem? I ask the dealer to check it out and it said than everything is ok... I think thay made a lousy check, period. I am afraid i will have to be more insistant and ask them to fix this.

thanks

I have never sat in my passenger seat, but from what my wife tells me she always LOVES sitting in that seat because of how well the seat heating works on the botom and the back. If no one can really even feel it in that seat then yeah it sounds to me like something is wrong.

I'm guessing that your dealer's service department checked the circuit breakers which would be an easy fix and found out its probably the heating pads themselves. That requires replacement along with disassembling most of the seat along with lots of careful upholstery work, and he doesn't have a guy capable of doing that without screwing up your nice interior.

So instead he gave you a wall job. That's when you drop the car off, arrange transportation back and forth to work or wherever you have to go that day and he parks it next to a wall. Then when you get back he tells you that everything is fixed, or normal, or what have you. He knows that this is inconvenient for you so are likely to fall for it.

Have a talk with the service manager and tell him that you are willing to give him a second chance before you get it fixed at his competitor.

i would expect them to change the seat rather than unsewing it and such. After all, the vehicle is only one year old and the problem is there from day 1. Even the ventilated mode is not as working as well. Not as much air coming out...

thanks

I dont think they would replace the entire seat. It might just be a connection.
When I had my leather replaced when my Summit was new, they just replaced the leather.

Don't forget Jg that seats are a significant cost of vehicles. They are not just chairs but have to make a huge variety of bodies comfortable for a long time and in place during a crash. The manufacturer doesn't want to eat all that cost just because one component breaks.
