What kind of trade in numbers are you getting for your WK2?

I have a 2011 Laredo X loaded minus NAV and I added OEM 20's. Started at around 21k trade but found a dealer that offered a 24k buy bid. That's without even buying from them. The Jeep had 49k miles. Thought this might be useful to people looking at buying a 2014. I'm trotn between buying a 2012 SRT8 300 or ordering a 2014 Hemi Jeep. My 3.6 Jeep has bored me to death and the MPG's have been a disappointment.

I got offered for my limited 4x4 hemi 2012 with 12000 on it 37000. I didn't think it was that bad. But I can tell you this the hemi is a thirsty beast for gas.

'11 V8 4x4 Overland - no radar and no rear dvd, black on black, 28k miles, have been offered between 32-35k for it.

The vehicles I was offered 32k for it on were priced ~2k under everyone else with the same vehicle FWIW.

How many miles were on it at the time of trade offer? Did you take the offer?

It had 3800 on it, and yes, I took the offer. I traded for a 13 Limited.

2012 Jeep WK2 Overland 4x4 Hemi, All the bells and whistles, tow package, Adaptive CC, Pre Collision, Pana Roof, New Saddle, ETC.. 4,500 miles on the clock, no accidents or damage. I was offered $34,500 from Carmax... WHAT A JOKE!

I went in out of pure curiosity and walk out offended! It had a $49k window sticker when I bought it 5 months ago!

Don't take that as representative, Carmax is a ripoff. They offered me about $15k less than I was able to get private party on my last car.

CarMax is definitely a joke, but you also have to remember that there are some pretty good deals to be had on new '13s (power bonus cash, 1.9% financing, x% under invoice offers). So it doesn't really matter that your Summit stickered at $50k, what matters is what the dealer thinks they can sell it for. CarMax doesn't know or care anything about what makes a Summit different than a regular Overland, and there's a pretty good chance that the next buyer won't either.

Nobody complains when they get discounts and incentives on the front end (mine stickered at $45k but I sure didn't pay that), but at trade-in time it's always a different story.

Edit: I don't know where I got the Summit part, but everything else still applies.

Good thread. As soon as I know my build date I can work with Pat for firm numbers on my trade. So far the original dealer i was working with offered me $34k for my 2011 overland 4x4 trailer hitch, v8 with just over 15k on it without much hassle. I'm hoping Pat will get me the same or better offer when my new one gets in. This is where it makes or breaks a good deal. Time will tell.
