Wiper Heaters?

I was driving today and notice on the rear window, one of the heated defroster strips runs where the rear window wiper blade is in a squiggly line.

Do the front windows have a defroster as well? I'm guessing this would help with ice build up?

Not that I'm aware of...
My 2010 Subaru Legacy 3.6R had heated pads under each wiper that came on when the rear defrost was activated

I really miss that. It came in very handy here in Minnesota (but made windshield replacements expensive for the insurance company).

The squiggly line is nice, but my rear wiper never sits on the squiggly line. It always ends up stopping 1/2 an inch higher. lol

Having that feature up front would be a good idea though. But knowing Jeep it would probably be a featured limited to the Overland Summit Super Extreme SRT8 edition :P

I loved that feature on my WRX. Never had to worry about ice/snow building up under the wiper while driving.

I'll take a pic in a little of what I'm talking about. About to head out to Home Depot lol.

The front wipers SHOULD have heating wiring (or at least they should temporarily park higher onto the part of the glass heated by the interior defroster when on Intermittent mode). I once had mine freeze solid at the park position during freezing rain at highway speed, even though I was regularly using them, with -45C washer fluid.

It was a minute of high danger, without visibility, except out side windows, until I could pull over.

It is my only safety beef about the WK2, but it is a major one.

I agree with the need, but not the approach Jeep is rumored to be taking for MY15 which is heated blades. To replace one is is about $75.

This is what the thread starter is referring too.

Got the pics. Yea, I was wondering if the front wipers had that. I didn't see anything but this is what I've been looking at in the rear window:

The front wipers on the WK2 don't have that. Would be nice, but not available.

I also wish my rear wiper would sit on the squiggly line but it never does. Stupid thing...

That pic you posted looks insane lol. That should be something OEM on all vehicles. When I was driving in the snow a few weeks ago, I had ice accumulate on my front wiper. Drained the whole wiper fluid tank to help melt it.

I really like that heated wiper feature on my LGT. Just one more reason why I like my Subaru so much.
