Tow ball, where to find 2-5/16?

My boat trailer has a 2-5/16 coupler, my Jeep has a 50mm ball.

One of the main reasons I bought the Jeep was to easely tow the boat
and I want to have a 2-5/16 ball on the Jeep.

This is how my ball look today: (Its 2 bolts, but only one showing in the pic)

Can anyone tell me where to find a similar one in 2-5/16 size?
As you can see the ball is bolted on. I would prefer to find the
same type of ball, then I will still be able to shift between these to
if necessery.

What the heck kind of hitch us that? I'm guessing you're not in North America ... 2 5/16" ball is readily available at any Walmart or Home Depot here however you need a receiver hitch and drawbar...which that isn't...

2 5/16 inch 2 5/16 trailer ball - Google Search are common enough. That bracket, not so much.

It should be easy enough, if the brackets are available by you, to just have the 2 5/16 ball welded on.

Porn? Where?! :brows:

Looked everywhere. This seems to be a EU tow ball.

Can only find it in 50mm for the small price of 849 USD!

Will have to make something myself....

From what I read on another forum I frequent (pop-up portal) if you make something yourself and ever have an accident your insurance carrier is not required to cover you, also you can be prosecuted for using an unapproved device. Your best bet is to replace the coupler on your boat trailer imo. Good luck and thanks for the journey through the EU and the ridiculous regulations that are no doubt headed our way with the leadership we are suffering under...

Hehe, You want to know the fun part?

Towing an american trailer is illegal i Denmark and Sweden. So if I make the ball myself
it doesent really matter, illegal dosent have a scale so I dont care.

Its almost impossible to make an american trailer street legal here..

BUT I do know that an big strong american trailer is much better then a weak shitty EU approved one.

I wont tow any long distances, once a year to the marina and at the Marina I will just launch her and pull her up after every use.

When I looked at that thing I thought you were kidding because I was told the reason for the EU hitch was safety. A guy on the pop-up portal (pop up campers) in England had to replace the coupler on his Canadian made pop up to work with the EU system ...I looked at the coupler and thought it looked the same except size but never saw the tow bar setup. Did they allow you to register your trailer ?

Re: Tow ball, where to find 2-5/16?
EU only has this rules to work as a blockade from US manufactures to save the EU manufactures. Simple politics which makes the life of the citizen harder.

Its almost impossible to get a US-trailer registred in Denmark or Sweden.
In Sweden you can under curtain circumstances tow a US trailer but its very boarderline whats actually legal.

But the cops are kinda cool with it if you have a big enough tow vehicle and are drivning slowly strait to the harbour/ramp with the proper signs put on the trailer.
