Radio volume fade
I have a 2011 WK2 limited whenever I am driving the radio volume fades in and out, sounds like one or more of the speakers is cutting out. It only happens when the vehicle is moving. I have the 430N if that helps.
Any ideas where to start? I have tired to id which speakers are the problem but have not been able to figure that out yet.
Anyone else have an issue with this or have and idea where to start before I start tearing interior panels off.

Re: Radio volume fade
Sounds to me like speed volume compensation. It will adjust the volume depending how fast you are going in order to compensate for road noise.

Re: Radio volume fade
I didn't think it had a compensation system, initially that is what I though it was but I am sure it isn't now. It varies way too frequently, like every few seconds. I have driven GM vehicles with a compensation system and it was noticeable but only when entering or exiting a highway.

I didn't think there was a compensation system involved in our radios either...but I was going to suggest you adjust the equalizer to move the speaker level around the cabin while driving and maybe have someone help you try to pinpoint wether or not it is a speaker issue. You might be able to isolate a corner or side that has a loose connection to the speaker.

Thanks, I will try that and report back with the results.

Re: Radio volume fade
None of the current Chrysler radios/media systems (130, 430 or 730 series) has speed-compensated volume control.
