20s vs. 22s
hey all, I'm new to the forum. actually came across this site by doing a basic google search on rims/tires for my 08 Laredo. Seems to be a pretty legit place, very knowledgeable people. I look forward to talking with you all. I am wondering about wether I should get the SRT reps in 20 or 22". How much of a performace/ride difference is there. Do 22's rub? It seems most go with the 20s. Let me know your input. it's appreciated. Thanks, and Cheers!!!

Re: 20s vs. 22s
I have 22 srt reps and 20 oem staggered. The 22s will not rub as long as its 22x9 in the front and the profile of the tire no more than 40. Im running 22x9 in all 4 corners with 265/40/22 nitto nt420s and I love them. The 22s fill up the wheel well nicely. I just recently put on 20 srt staggered set for the winter with 265/45/20 front and 295/40/20 rear toyo proxes st2. The ride with the 20s is a bit softer, but there is a bigger gap.

Re: 20s vs. 22s
What do you think the difference in the gap is with the 20s ? Also, is the ride that significant of a diffence. I want to fill the well but not rub. I don't want to much of a gap. I'm sure you know what I'm sayin

Also, did you have to do anything with the speedometer with either?

Re: 20s vs. 22s
Without measuring, I would say about 1 1/2 - 2 inches difference in gap. I do have eibach lowering springs that I will be installing sometime in spring. That should give me at least a 1" drop front and rear. I didnt do anything with the speedometer. The difference with the speedo is so small that you dont really notice it. There are programmers that recalibrate your speedo. About the ride difference, I would say it depends on where you live, I am in NYC and you wont find a single road without bumps or potholes, so you feel it a little bit more with the 22s. You wont have a problem with rubbing if you go with 22s. Just make sure that what ever tires you go with, don't go over 40 profile. With my 22s, when I turn the wheel half way, it is about 1/4" away from the plastic (wheel well cover)

Re: 20s vs. 22s
buying the 20s. wrapped in toyo S-T2. Whats your take on the sizes...Front:275/40/20, Rear: 315/35/20. Thats what he said most go with in regards to these wheels?

Re: 20s vs. 22s
You can install tires in that size. 255/45/20 front and 285/40/20 is the oem size that srt8s came with. I went with 265/45/20 & 295/40/20.

Re: 20s vs. 22s
Is there a reason you went with that? Curious

Re: 20s vs. 22s
I wanted a little wider than stock, but didnt want to go too wide (315).
