2014 Diesel Question

Anyone have pics of the urea fill location? How often and how long does it take to regen, and how often do you need to re-fill?

If I do go with the '14, it most likely will be with a diesel.

Re: 2014 Diesel Question

My gut tells me it is either going to be under hood or in the spare tire well in the rear. It will probably be in the rear as it feeds into the exhaust system.

Most of them are in the spare tire well.

Which brings up another good point, most of the Urea tanks replace the spare tire, and you only get an air compressor and a can of fix-a-flat.

The loss of the full size spare tire sort of goes against the idea of having a high fuel economy, tow worthy rig. It's a long distance trip machine, and now you can't bring a full size spare?

Re: 2014 Diesel Question

Are quite a few other places to put it such as the cubby where the flashlight goes. I doubt if they will put it where the spare goes unless they make a swing-away on the hitch receiver.

Well, several of the packages/trims come with a fullsized spare.

So either they nix that when you order the CRD (which I can't tell if they do or don't from the info we have), or it's stuffed away somewhere else (like under the hood).

There are heaps of places to put the pisstank. I would be astounded if they replaced the full sized wheel with the tank as it would be a deal breaker for too many people.

It will probably be next to the gas cap if they follow the MB model:

Nice pic of the MB...I believe that filler neck goes to a tank....right where the spare tire was...it did on the previous generation Bluetec models.
I had a CDI, which was pee-pee free and had a spare....

I've never used urea but I'm assuming that it probably stinks. The last place I'd want to spill it is inside the vehicle.

Re: 2014 Diesel Question

My urea tank is where my spare was on the wifes 2011 MB E350 and they put run flats on it with no spare which I don't like. The next year they changed it but I'm not sure where they put it.
