2014 GC Speedometer display with Polarized Sunglasses

Can the Speedometer display be seen with Polarized sunglasses? My OEM radio display in my VW is COMPLETELY BLACK with my Prescription sunglasses on. I swapped it out with an Alpine to solve the problem. I don't think swapping out the main speedometer display will be possible. The best OEM displays so far I have seen have been in the new Fords and Lincolns.

This is my only concern before I order the new car.

That ^ is a very very good point...

The display in the 2011MY GC is not affected at all by Polarized glasses. This makes sense -- it's an LED array, not a LCD display with backlight.

But the 2014 is a tft lcd...

Logic says don't order one, wait until they're in the dealers and check. Frankly, I bet nobody knows this yet, I doubt they even tested it.

I just found this:

7" Sunglass-Fix TFT LCD with Optical Bonding

The display is also viewable for users wearing polarized sunglasses.
If this is the display they are using, then, I have nothing to worry about.... This is, however, a very new display, i.e., untested. Although, it is made by a German company, i.e., Germans make good stuff.

Look at the new Gage Cluster for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. It looks familiar, doesn't it?

What makes you think that display is what's being used?

It's the newest LCD designed for Automotive and outdoor use and it's the same size. Also, I realized the feds wouldn't allow a speedometer to exist that couldn't be seen while wearing sunglasses. I found this display by searching for: 7" TFT LCD Display sunglasses. Also, since this exists, I know that someone is thinking about the problem at the very least.

FWIW, the other manufacturers that beat Jeep to the punch by a few years you can see the display with glasses. Jag, Land Rover, Ford, etc. all their digital dashes can be seen with polarized glasses on.

I doubt the feds have enough sense to even think of such a thing. They tend to be the last place I'd expect a meaningful and helpful thing out of.

I sat in a 2014 today with my polarized sunglasses and was able to see the 7" LCD screen as well as the Uconnect screen with no problems.
