Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

I would like to know if anyone else has contacted Jeep Customer Service in regards to DRL/Tailights replacement?

I am getting a bit annoyed with JCS (Jeep Customer Service) for not knowing about this issue on any other GC in aus with this problem.

If any one has not contacted JCS and have this issue, please contact them and get a incident report to get the resolution we all need for this problem.

Thanks in advance and i'll keep everyone posted with this.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

I spoke with the service department at my dealer on Monday, I have a couple of issues I thought I would bring up with them prior to my 12,000km service the DRL's being one of them. I had pulled the relays at 1500km so I dont really have any fogging on the reflectors however when I showed him other GC's that where there, one with only 4000km on it the reflector was almost completely white. His reply was to re activate my DRL's and they would simply replace the headlights if and when they cloud over, He seemed more than happy to just keep replacing headlight's if needed. Mine being a JET edition with the blacked out light's run at about $2200 each so it will be expensive for someone. Needless to say my relay's are still pulled!

Cheers

I get the impression that Jeep Aust are well aware of this issue, as the delaers would not be so readily changing lights without first seeking clarification from HQ.
My guess, is that CJD Oz are simply acting dumb and pretending the owner is the first person to bring the problem to their attention.
It is similar to the navigation routing and mudguard issues.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Just picked up mine 10 minutes ago from having the front headlamp assemblies replaced under warranty, no quibble. They have refitted the original globes that caused the damage in the first place, but I will have my LEDs in as soon as I press the enter key. I must be one of the first to complain as they have not seen this before, but either way, the replacement was carried out without an issue, so a good result:)

I took mine in, and the dealer would not change the headlights. He looked at a few and said they all looked like that. I'm going to leave as is, and then try again when they get a bit worse ( only 5k on the clock)

Update on the issues with the globes. Jeep Australia have now pictures of the issues and they do seem "concerned" with this problem. Particularly after I described the Tail lights as a melting fire hazard and the vehicle is operating outside the design parameters.

Below is a few pics of the Brake light and it uses the same bulb in the DRL's. As you can see, the issue is not a minor one.

Apparently, I am the first case that has been logged for the DRL/Brakelights in Aus so I am keen to see where they take this.

I am still waiting for parts to arrive in drip and drabs, which then leads to a unknown repair time frame and this then becomes a ACCC issue.

In the Telecon conversation with Jeep Aus a few key phrases were dropped into the mix which did make them sit up and get there attention. I'm going to give them a few more days to let there internal processes happen then, as usual I won't here from them i'll chase them up and apply a bit more pressure.

As mentioned, both headlamps were replaced under warranty yesterday. They have also installed new lamp holders. Makes me wonder if the original holders smoking under heat caused the fogging and the new holders are a different material? Anyway, LEDs are now installed so I should not have the issue again. Thumbs up for the service centre for a quick repair.

What globes did you get Glenn??
Any issues with the parking lights?
I am looking to purchase the LED's and have them to hand before hitting my dealer up at the 30k service.
Thanks
John

Hi John,
I'm running these. No issues so far, bright, ever so slightly purple which might be due to the Jeep lens rather than the LED which is a real brilliant white. Having said that, they match the Xenon HID's perfectly. I have the same type on order for my stop/tail lights and have ordered LED's from the same guy for the rear number plate with a bundled $10 shipping charge.

I've got the same issues. Will be getting my 20k service in few weeks and see what the dealer says.

Had my 20k service today. Couldn't be bothered mentioning it at this stage.... Will probably wait a few months for them to sort their sh!t out and raise it later. Will def go to LED when I do.
