Upgrading the Audio System in the 2014 Grand Cherokee
I posted already in the WK2 forums, so my apologies in advance for posting twice.
I really like the 2014 Grand Cherokee but I hate the Alpine Audio System - I'd love to get the Harman Kardon System but I can't stomach paying close to $50k just for the stereo - I don't need 19 speakers either.
I'd like to get people's thoughts about upgrading the Alpine Audio System - i'd like to leave the head unit while replacing the speakers and the amplifier.
I'd like to see if anybody has upgraded their systems in their WK2 and what speakers / amp they used?
I'd also like to get people's thoughts whether the amp can be mounted behind any interior panels (possibly in the place of the current amp) - I know D Class Amps are smaller but I'm not sure if they are suitable.
I use my trunk and I have kids, so the amp is going to get damaged if mounted to the back of the seat or underneath the seat.
Any thoughts? I love the Grand Cherokee but I'd like to get a Laredo or Limited which is in my budget.
Re: Upgrading the Audio System in the 2014 Grand Cherokee
I am new to all of this but while pricing a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited today the Uconnect 84A AM/FM/BT/Access, code RA3 is a Harman Kardon System. $352 Invoice and $395 MSRP. To have a NAV system is RA4 =$708 inv and $795 MSRP. Steve
