Scratched the Glove Box

I have a 2010 Stock Grand Cherokee Limited and I have somehow managed to put an inch long scratch into the hard plastic on glove box.

Since I am super anal, it is literally driving me crazy. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks for your knowledge in advance...

there is a plastic paint now that i think about it that member "jeepaholic" is using at the moment to paint his interior. You could maybe sand the scratch out with a very high grit paper and then repaint the glove box.

Or you could consider wrapping it with something like 3M's di-noc vinyl film. The glove box might be a bit too big to look good but then again maybe not. Do some of the other dash and door trim and it might fit in.

Sometimes using a rag and an interior spray cleaner (like Meguires Quick Interior) will help smooth out the contours of the scratch and somewhat hide it.

There is a company here that can fix almost anything in regards to scratches and whatnot on a dash. I'm sure they aren't francised but there's gotta be somebody out where you are that can do the same. Call some upholstery shops and ask a few questions, maybe they can refer you to someone.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I will start with the Quick Interior cleaner and work my way up the "cost" ladder.

Good idea, let us know the results!

If the scratch is deep, the Megs probably won't do much, but it has been able to diminish a lot of medium to light scratches for me (grey interior).

Some times a bit of LIGHT heat from a cig lighter will soften the scratch and make it blend in better but dont get it all sooty. That is hard to remove some times.

Matt,
I sure will. I believe it isn't very deep maybe 1/32 of an inch....
