vss location 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo

Hi, I can't seem to find any wiring diagrams for 2012 Laredo? I'm looking for a way to tap into the vehicle speed sensor (vss) for an after market navi. Thanks for the help!

Curious why you need to tap into it for nav?

The receiver has a vss wire and from what I've read that wire sends pulses when the car is in motion so that the navi can realize that the car is moving.

Seems to me that would be best bypassed unless you don't want to be able to have a passenger enter info while in motion ...what model nav ?

If bypassed the navi won't follow the route you are driving due to the fact that it doesn't think you are moving, the unit is a eonon double din.

You should be a using a PAC audio adapter (such as RP4-CH11) to interface the Jeep's high speed CAN bus network with the aftermarket radio. DO NOT tap into this network without such adapter or you'll screw up the Jeep's electronics big time. Are you using a PAC audio adapter?

The VSS wire tells the Nav when the vehicle is moving and how fast it is traveling. I went through this on one of my other vehicles. I swapped out the stock radio for an aftermarket kenwood nav system. I thought the GPS antenna took care of everything but it doesn't. It will show you your location but when you start moving it only updated your position every minute or so. After some (a lot) of research I found out that the VSS wire was vital to the navigation function.

Not quite factual.
The VSS is used in times when you lose the GPS signal. In a tunnel for example.
The system will then read the car's speed, and keep the nav screen moving as if it had coverage. Once the sats are visible again, the system changes back to the sats.

There is no discrete VSS signal in this vehicle. Speedometer information is delivered to the NAV in packets over the CAN bus network.
