Re: overdrive annoying

On my ZJ with e I6 overdrive would disengage after while on a long haul. I had to stop and turn the Jeep off for it to get to engage again. I don't know what its problem was.

How the tranny's fluid? Perhaps it needs a service?

Re: overdrive annoying

I tow a 3k lb camper with my 2003 4.0 42re Grand Cherokee. The transmission would not downshift when the overdrive was turned off. But the trans would shift normally when the overdrive off. Turned out to be a combination of a bad torque converter and valve body not allowing the fluid to reverse itself when the overdrive was turned off. It is much better now, but it is far from perfect.
